Moreover, while these crucial elements are generally critical factors in the design and application of visual content, there are indications that within the context of social commerce their application ought to be guided by a hierarchy of importance that places a sequence to these elements as follows – Appeal, retention and comprehension.Īnimated infographic has become increasingly popular due to its capacity to capture audience’s attention as opposed to words presentation alone. This is due to the fact visual storytelling has a positive influence on three crucial elements of visual communication – appeal, comprehension and retention. The main findings from the study showed that visual storytelling (applying narrative in the design and delivery of visual content) may significantly enhance the ability of brands to communicate with and engage consumers in social commerce.
